Q: What is Spam ?
A: A "spam" e-mail is generally defined as an unsolicited mailing, usually to many people. A message written for, and mailed to, one individual that is known to the sender is not spam, and a reply to an e-mail is not spam, unless the "reply" repeats endlessly.
Spam e-mailers have become a separate part of the Internet, with their own host computers, methods, and politics. Many Internet sites have begun to forbid spamming, for several reasons – one is a sense that it is unethical, another is that, over time, other Internet sites will stop all e-mail from that site and thus prevent legitimate e-mail from getting through. As a result, spammers have begun to set up their own Internet sites -- sites that cater to, or encourage, spamming.

Q: How can Solar Winds Online help ?
A: You have probably seen an increase in the amount of "junk mail" which shows up in your email box. The activities of a small number of people are becoming a bigger problem for the Internet. We have been actively engaged in fighting spam for years.
Now we take it to a new level.
We have implemented a new powerful spam filter that work like a "noose" on junk email. The filter rates each and every piece of email that comes into the webserver system. Once your email address is added to the users list and given a setting we do a comparison of your setting and the email rating. From this comparison we decide if the mail should be sent forward to you, marked as spam or deleted outright.

Q: How does it work like a noose ?
A: For each individual we can give a custom setting, in essence "tightening the noose" making your email address more and strict about what it accepts.

Q: What does this cost?
A: Due to the load this service puts on the system we have decided it needs to be a paid for service. $ 5.00/mth per email address up to a maximum of $ 30.00/mth for multiple email address holders.

Q: I subscribe to the Antivirus Service - can I get a package deal?
A: If combined with the Server Based Antivirus service then yes you will receive the package price of $ 6.00/mth up to a maximum of $ 55.00/mth for multiple email address holders.

Q: Is this service mandatory ?
A: No not at all. It is completely Opt-In meaning you need to ask us to add your account to the scan list. We have added this service because through experience we know everyone hates SPAM and wants to stop getting the junk mail in their mail boxes.

Q: How hard is it to set up ?
A: Easy as falling in love, we just add your email address to the list and in 4 hours you will see your SPAM levels decrease dramatically.

Q: How do I subscribe to this service ?
A: Email spam@internetguys.ca and it will be added to your monthly, or yearly billing.
